Natural Benefits
TruBlu Farms promotes meat tenderness by crossing Black Angus cows with Hereford bulls. This cross promotes both hybrid vigor and, according to the Clemson University Meat Laboratory research studies, results in the most tender meat for the consumer. No hormones or antibiotics are given to grass fed animals, nor are they ever fed grain or animal by-products.
Not only does it taste good, but research also indicates that pasture raised and grass fed meats possess some unique nutritional benefits, especially when compared to traditionally raised grain-fed beef. Specifically, grass fed meats are lower in “bad fats” and higher in the “good fats”—Omega-3 and Conjugated Linoleic Acids (CLA), as well as Vitamins A, D, E, and Beta Carotene. Omega-3 fatty acids have been declared “good fat” for humans. More technically, the body requires these fatty acids but cannot convert them from other fats or oils. Eating a diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids is recommended to assist in fighting high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, cancer, and heart disease. Another benefit of a grass fed diet is that CLA may also have a role in cancer prevention.
Our meats meet the USDA guidelines for natural meat, meaning that it contains no artificial flavoring, color ingredients, chemical preservatives, or artificial or synthetic ingredients, and it does not undergo any processing that fundamentally alters the product.
